WHAT TO EXPECT
Featuring many elements of the Sing for Better Breathing sessions, Senior Singing offerings are adapted for senior pacing and song interests.

Each class session includes

  • Training in diaphragmatic breathing (also called the ‘Singer’s Breath) and
    other beneficial breathing exercises.
  • Practice and application of techniques by singing fun, well-known
    songs and the option of suggesting songs for the group to sing.
  • Examples of how to practice and apply the process to daily living.
  • Gentle isometric stretching is appropriate for seniors of all shapes
    and sizes.
  • Short mindfulness activities are designed to reduce anxiety and
    bring added control of deeper breathing.
  • Additionally, intentional time is spent on interaction between
    participants to foster social interaction and strengthen general
    health and well-being.
LEVELs 1, 2 & 3

All levels progress through a designed course.

  • Level 1 presents a strong foundation in the methods and exercises that will help clients have an improved understanding in and control of their breathing.
  • Levels 2 & 3 build on the previous level’s material and include additional methods and exercises.

Respiratory Therapy/ Facility/ Senior Singing Pricing:

Paid by RT, Hospital or Facility to StarSong. (Patients billed by Therapist/ Facility – including insurance and private pay)

  • Sample Session (30 minutes, 2 -24 people attending) – $200 flat fee
  • Regular Sessions: 50 minutes – $50 -$70 per person per session.
