The purpose of StarSong Music is to help you have more control of your breathing.

StarSong groups teach and encourage the practice of diaphragmatic breathing. Regular practice of this singer’s breathing technique helps promote better muscle tone of the chest, ribs, back and abdomen that can help increase breathing control and lung capacity. Difficulty breathing causes low blood oxygen levels, and can lead to many health problems, including fatigue, and shortness of breath, as well as other more serious problems. Designed with certain lung dysfunctions in mind – age-related breathing difficulty, asthma, COPD and Long COVID – the goal of StarSong is to help you have more control of your own breathing.
StarSong has a strong secondary objective of enriching physical and mental well-being.

Aging changes a lot in the human body. The decline of the respiratory system leads to difficulties with breathing and with resulting respiratory and general health complications. StarSong programs are designed to help senior adults benefit from singing for Better Breathing and for Health & Wellbeing. Seniors benefit in other areas of life as singing together has also been shown to stimulate social connection and mental, psychological & cognitive health.
