Senior StarSong sessions are 45-50 minutes in length, located in the facility or retirement community, and offered once a week in 6 week, 8 week or 12 week packages.
Utilizing many elements of the Sing for Better Breathing Senior Singing is adapted for senior song interests and pacing. All sessions include emphasis on diaphragmatic breathing (also called the ‘Singer’s Breath) and how to practice and apply the process to daily living. Breathing exercises, singing of fun and well-known songs, gentle isometric stretching, and short mindfulness activities designed to reduce anxiety and bring further awareness to deeper breathing all offer opportunities to strengthen health and well-being.
